Something Shiny

Went for about a 15 Miler Yesterday. It's a little lame running through all those snotty housing editions. Seems really materialistic, just by proxy. I think running is really about chilling out and relaxing, and that can be done best away from all that crap. Running is like a big focus knob built into the side of life. It gives you an opportunity to think about what you really think is important. The hoitey toitey shiny stuff that people give up everything important to feather their nest with, hardly seems like what one should be striving for. That's not to say that it isn't all beautiful, it just seems like a big facade. If you meet these people and get to know them, you realize that they just don't understand what is important. Turn the focus knob man, lace up and learn. Next week we will be running in isolation on a remote county road. Just turning the knob a little more.

Ahhh Much better. Ran down by the river, under a covered bridge and alongside a county road. I didn't experience any of those keeping up with the Jones' feelings I usually come away with after a run in the city. Sorta feels like a deep breath, relaxing and required.
